Physical therapist assistants work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients with mobility and flexibility. Many patients who seek out physical therapy are recovering from injuries, disabilities or other health concerns, but physical therapist assistants may also help patients who just want to live healthier lives and increase mobility. While a physical therapist makes a diagnosis and treatment plan, a physical therapist assistant may help patients complete exercises and stretch or complete other therapeutic techniques.
