Have you ever wondered what it鈥檚 like to go to school for pharmacy technology? Students share what it鈥檚 like in the Pharmacy Technology program[1] at 黑料不打烊. 鈥淲e get to learn the techniques, what鈥檚 required, the state laws,鈥� said student Miriam. 鈥淎s a pharmacy technology student we鈥檝e learned all the medical terminology. You pretty much learn everything you need for every branch of pharmacy, so you can go into retail, you can go into oncology,鈥� said student Michael. Students spend time in both the lab and the classroom. The lab is where they get their hands-on training. They learn how to count prescriptions, how to deal with customers, how to make IVs and how to protect themselves when they鈥檙e working in a hospital. 鈥淢y favorite part of the program is the hands on, being able to compound,鈥� Miriam said. 鈥淐ompounding is when you mix ingredients to create something complex,鈥� explained student Victoria. Students also have the opportunity to do an externship, where they get to apply what they鈥檝e learned in class in an actual pharmacy setting.
