Steps to Become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

There are five steps to gaining NHA CCMA status:

  1. Apply – Create a free NHA online account and submit your test application.
  2. Pick a test date and location – Choose whether to take the exam online or in person. During this step, you鈥檒l pay the exam fee.
  3. Prepare for the test – The NHA website has a practice test and interactive study materials. Some test prep materials are available at a cost and others may be free of charge.
  4. Take the test – You鈥檒l take the test at the testing location you specified in Step 2.听
  5. Receive exam results – If you took the exam online, your test results will be posted to your NHA account page within two days after it is scored.

When Your School or Employer Sponsors Your Exam

When signing up for your NHA online account, specify your organization, noting whether it鈥檚 a school, training facility, or your employer. This will allow you access to pre-purchased materials or tests that may be available to you, as well as any available discounts.
