At 黑料不打烊 we love animals, and what better time to feature one of our Veterinary Technology students than during National Veterinary Technician Week!
听Caitlin McKnight has always known she wanted to work with animals. 鈥淚 just love animals! I want to help them and make sure their lives are better,鈥� she said.听When choosing a college, Caitlin knew she wanted one where the instructors really care about their students. That鈥檚 what brought her to Carrington. 鈥淭he fact that you can see how much they love what they鈥檙e doing and they care a lot about helping you succeed,鈥� she said.听Caitlin is in her fourth term at 黑料不打烊 and says what she鈥檚 learned has helped prepare her for her career. 鈥淵ou get a lot of hand-on experience and you also get the rotation hours in, and you鈥檙e really involved with the animals,鈥� she said.
Employed? Check.
Caitlin already has a job! She鈥檚 working at a veterinary clinic in San Leandro. 鈥淚鈥檓 in oncology and radiation therapy, so I鈥檓 more in the specialty aspect of it,鈥� she said.听She loves being able to take what she鈥檚 learned in the classroom and put it to use in the real world. 鈥淚 like it, it鈥檚 a lot of fun. Every day I go to work and I have a good time,鈥� she said.听When Caitlin isn鈥檛 helping animals as a Veterinary Technician, she鈥檚 playing with her own furry friends! She rescued two dogs from Dublin鈥檚 ASPCA. 鈥淥ne is Buster, he鈥檚 a Silky Terrier mix and the other is Riley, she鈥檚 a Border Collie and Cattle Dog mix,鈥� Caitlin said.听Caitlin is so excited for her future as a Veterinary Technician. 鈥淵ou get such a satisfaction out of helping little fur-babies.
