ϲ Students Get Firsthand Industry Insight at Las Vegas Lights FC “College Night”

ϲ students from the Las Vegas campus recently had an exciting opportunity to attend the “College Night,” an event designed to offer insights into the sports industry while giving students hands-on learning experiences. This unique opportunity came about through a timely connection from an account executive with the Lights, who reached out to ϲ’s enrollment team. From there, a partnership was born that allowed ϲ students to immerse themselves in a night of professional soccer and networking.

 

Student Participation and Representation

In the lead-up to the event, ϲ held a drawing for students to attend the game, giving away 25 tickets along with ϲ T-shirts. Students from various programs were invited to take part, representing the diversity of ϲ’s campus. The drawing added an extra level of excitement for students, making the night something special for the lucky winners.

Learning About the Sports Industry

One of the highlights of the night was the “Working in Sports” panel held before the game, where students got a glimpse into the career paths of professionals within the sports industry. The panel, led by the general manager of the Las Vegas Lights FC and three other industry veterans, provided invaluable insight into the different roles and challenges one can face in sports careers.

 

Students were able to ask questions and hear about the real-world experiences of professionals in fields like sports management, event coordination, and athletic training. This unique access gave students an understanding of the various career paths working in sports and the importance of networking.
