黑料不打烊 Reno announced today that it has expanded its externship sites for medical assisting and medical billing & coding students to include St. Mary鈥檚 Medical Groups and Carson Tahoe. This expansion allows Carrington medical assisting and medical billing & coding students the opportunity to extern at any of the Reno area鈥檚 major hospital medical groups. 鈥淲ith the new health care reform set to take effect, there will be an increased demand for medical assistants,鈥� said Michael Como, executive director of the Reno Campus. 鈥淲e are excited to work with these establishments to better prepare our students for their future careers and to instill in them the importance of helping the local community. By creating these relationships early on in their education, our hope is that Carrington students will be more likely to receive a permanent position and easily transition from school to full-time career.鈥� According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the medical assisting profession is expected to grow by 31 percent through 2020, much faster than average. The externships give students hands on experience in vital sign testing and patient examinations, among other things.
